BAC startup fail due to TimeZone diff
Hi, I have 1 BAC server installed with all components in it (gateway&DP) and 1 DB server (SQL server). Normally, we use CST timezone.
But recently, we changed the timezone at the BAC server to GMT because it wouldn't startup using CST.
I already applied DST patch, but it didn't fix the problem.
I've seen that a similar problem was already posted ("Problems with MAM GUI"), but no solution was documented.
Hope someone can help on this.
Regards,

Re: BAC startup fail due to TimeZone diff
Hi Memo,
Please make sure that all BAC components (including DB) are on the same time zone. This is a must for BAC. If it doesn'T help, please let us know the version.

Re: BAC startup fail due to TimeZone diff
Hi, we are using BAC 6.7 on a Windows 2003.
The problem here is that if BAC server and SQL server are configured at the same timezone, BAC won't start and the following error is presented at jboss_boot.log file:
**************************
Verifying time diff between cpp(local machine) and java.
....
Log file of time diff is C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\time_diff.log
year:2008 month:07 day:15 hour:13 minute:00 seconds:54 mili-sec:773
CompilerOracle: exclude com/inet/tds/d getLong
Invalid time diff between cpp(local machine) and java
This prevents JBoss from running !!!
For more info look at log file: C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\time_diff.log
You can run the following stand alone time diff tools:
file: [PRODUCT_HOME_PATH]\tools\TimeDiff\timeDiff.bat
**************************

Re: BAC startup fail due to TimeZone diff
Did you apply the patch supplied with 6.7 or the patch supplied with 6.5?
The patch for 6.5 may be out of date.
Also you may test JRE of BAC using test mode of tzupdater to see if the fix indeed was applied.
Additionally please tell the version of timezone data currently set in your BAC.

Re: BAC startup fail due to TimeZone diff
Hi, the problem has been solved. The solution was changing the current timezone "Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey - New" to "Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey - Old", because the new one is not supported by java.

Re: BAC startup fail due to TimeZone diff
You told that you're in GMT...
That's misguided me.
Nice to see you resolved it though.
