bin/sh required to install DP Installation Server

When attempting to install a Linux Installation Server, the install script errors with a peculiar "/bin/sh is needed by OB2-CORE-A.10.00-1.x86_64" error. Needless to say that this shell clearly exists. Some investigation suggests this is a RPM based issue, but given the installation is script based, I don't want to mess around too much with the installation packages.

OS = Ubuntu 16.04

Any help would be appreciated. Full output follows

  Data Protector version A.10.00 found
  Client detected, installed components:  da
