Hi all,

Log from client server:

1st event

The INSTALL_SERVICE service was unable to log on as domain.local\backup with the currently configured password due to the following error:
Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.

Service: INSTALL_SERVICE
Domain and account: domain.local\backup

This service account does not have the required user right "Log on as a service."

User Action

Assign "Log on as a service" to the service account on this computer. You can use Local Security Settings (Secpol.msc) to do this. If this computer is a node in a cluster, check that this user right is assigned to the Cluster service account on all nodes in the cluster.

If you have already assigned this user right to the service account, and the user right appears to be removed, check with your domain administrator to find out if a Group Policy object associated with this node might be removing the right.

I can login using RDP (domain user)

If i try to login with local user, I have error incorect user or password, but in windows client I have error with access to shared folder:

A network share object was accessed.

Subject:
Security ID: SERVER-NAME\backup1
Account Name: backup1
Account Domain: SERVER-NAME
Logon ID: 0x17B866E0

Network Information:
Object Type: File
Source Address: "ip address of DP"
Source Port: 62202

Share Information:
Share Name: \\*\ADMIN$
Share Path: \??\C:\Windows

Access Request Information:
Access Mask: 0x1
Accesses: ReadData (or ListDirectory)

Any idea?

Tnahk you in advance

Re: DP10. Add client error

Hi @victor-c,

With Data Protector 10.x your should not configure clients with their IP address. It was not recommended with previous versions. Even if the Cell Manager is not part of a domain, it should have a valid FQDN and should be able to resolve DNS names of the clients in both directions.

If you have multiple clients in that domain, installl one Installation Server on a client in that domain and run omniinetpasswd on the Installation server with a user account that can access the Omniback share.

Refer to https://www.data-protector.org/wordpress/2011/05/cannot-connect-to-the-scm-omniinetpasswd/ for details.

Re: DP10. Add client error

thank you, Sebastian

For my case: If you have multiple clients in that domain, installl one Installation Server on a client in that domain and run omniinetpasswd on the Installation server with a user account that can access the Omniback share.
