Copying user Field Values from the test lab to an user field in the defect module (QC - HP ALM)

I have created the user field Screen Number("TS_USER_01") in the test plan, and I want the value of this field to be automatically populated into the Screen Number Bug_Fields("BG_USER_01") in the defect module.  I am looking for assistance on how to configure this in the Defect Module workflow.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Re: Copying user Field Values from the test lab to an user field in the defect module (QC - HP ALM)

It can be done. Here is an example.

Add a global variable on top of the Common workflow:

Dim screenNumber

Add the following code to Run_MoveTo:

Set myRun = TDConnection.RunFactory.Item(Run_Fields("RN_RUN_ID").Value)
Set myTest = TDConnection.TestFactory.Item(myRun.TestId)
screenNumber = myTest.Field("TS_USER_01")
Set myRun = Nothing
Set myTest = Nothing

Then in Bug_New, add these lines:

Bug_Fields("BG_USER_01").Value = screenNumber
screenNumber = ""

The last line will blank out the value of screenNumber so that it won't turn up again in a defect not created from a Run. But you will need to blank it out in some other place as well, for example in Run_CanPost, since a Run will of course not always result in a Defect.
