SM7 - Unable to connec to Oracle 10 DB - Could not load shared library sqoracle.oci10.so

Hi all,

I am trying to get Service Manager 7 going on Solaris 10. I have my tnsnames.ora file configured correctly. (I tested this by using sqlplus to connect). The Service Manager 7 software itself appears to be installed correctly. When I try to run configure I get the following:
10-Jul-2008 9:29:10 AM com.hp.ov.sm.configuration.Util execCommand
INFO:

I have $LD_LIBRARY_PATH set so it points to the RUN directory where sqoracle.oci10.so and the other libraries are. (/opt/HP/SM7/Server/RUN)

Any ideas?

Hi Craig,

could you please paste the results of the commando "env" for the user that you are using to start the SM services?

Re: SM7 - Unable to connec to Oracle 10 DB - Could not load shared library sqoracle.oci10.so

It looks like the permissions on the oracle client directory didn't allow the 'sqoracle.oci10.so' to link to the other .so files.

I could have sworn I set the perms to 755 but apparently I hadn't.

Hi Craig,

I have installed the SM7.0 on HP-UX11.23 and oracle10g on same machine.
Getting error while connecting to Oracle10DB.

Re: SM7 - Unable to connec to Oracle 10 DB - Could not load shared library sqoracle.oci10.so

I don't remember exactly what I did to correct it but I had to make sure that the permissions were correct for the Oracle client. I may have copied 'sqoracle.oci10.so' to the same directory as the configure script. I would suspect that I may have had a path incorrect but I couldn't see how I deviated from the installation guide.

Re: SM7 - Unable to connec to Oracle 10 DB - Could not load shared library sqoracle.oci10.so

Hi,

I had the same problem today with SM7.0 and Oracle 10.2.0.4
I resolved it by correcting my SHLIB_PATH (LD_LIBRARY_PATH on linux).
It's a problem with the version of oracle libraries.
SM seems to use the 32bits Oracles Libraries. Change in you SHLIB_PATH : $ORACLE_HOME/lib by $ORACLE_HOME/lib32.

Retry and enjoy :o)

Re: SM7 - Unable to connec to Oracle 10 DB - Could not load shared library sqoracle.oci10.so

can you tell me how you resolved this issue?
I have the similar issue. Is it necessary that we need to have the sqoracle.oci10.so under lib32 directory?
