One of the impacts of spin-mergers is often the disruption of “business as usual thinking”, and that creates opportunities to reinvent and improve existing programs and processes. As part of our transition to Micro Focus, the software education team has revised our Software Accreditation & Certification program. The old program was retired late last month being replaced by a new model that brings an enhanced user portal, updated content and these new credential levels:
ASP (Accredited Software Professional)
ASE (Accredited Software Expert)
CSP (Certified Software Professional)
CSE (Certified Software Expert)
A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document is available here that covers all the details. A few key take-aways from that FAQ include:
Software education certifications will no longer be available for enrolment on PearsonVUE nor on the HPE Certification and Learning websites,
Not all exams are available now. The transition to this new program will continue into 2018 based on demand-driven prioritization timelines,
Customers and partners retain their existing certification credentials – they do not expire. The Software Education team can obtain an historical certification credentials report from HPE Certification and Learning as needed,
The new portal is hosted on ViewCentral – our Learning Management System that is familiar to Enterprise Security, Big Data (including Vertica and IM&G) and Digital Learning Later this calendar year, we are consolidating all of our course catalogs to ViewCentral, retiring the Merc Training LMS that has been home to the ITOM and ADM portfolios . That consolidation will include a new user experience (I can’t wait to show it to you!) that we think you are going to love! More news on this change is coming soon.
Again, I encourage anyone interested in accreditation and certification to read the FAQ for full details.
BTW - did you know that we have a new education channel on YouTube? Check out www.youtube.com/thelearningchannel4software. Our playlists contain free foundations training (like this video: How to Install Data Protector 10), course previews, tips/tricks and customer use cases for our solutions. Playlists include videos produced by the education team as well as relevant content by third party experts such as partners and customers – that we think you will find valuable. We are in the process of building out our playlists so keep up to date on the new content being posted by subscribing!
