MF CM9.2 Web Client install error

Hi

HPE CM9.2 , SQL Server 2012-R2 , Office 2016 ...

Just finished upgrading the 9.0 server to 9.2

beside error with required .net framework 6.2 (we are 5, something) , this error showed up when I typed in the link towards the web client:

Server Error in '/HPEContentManager' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runtime Error
  Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

So, any ideas how to make Web Client functional....

BTW, TRIM owrks OK even without ,Net 6.2 .. what am I potentially missing, some web functionalities?

Re: MF CM9.2 Web Client install error

You may get more meaningful error messages if you try browsing to the web client from the server where it's running.

Or if that doesn't work then you should try updating the web.config as suggested to turn off custom error mesages. This will return the actual error message through the browser.

   <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>

Not recommending that you do this for a production system, but for troubleshooting errors in a dev or test environment this is pretty handy.

I've done that,

now is:

HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable

Re: MF CM9.2 Web Client install error

On multiple occasions, we'd found that after upgrading from 9.1.0 to 9.1.2, the installer had stripped out the server name from our web client XML configuration file (default path should be C:\Program Files\Hewlett Packard Enterprise\Content Manager\Web Client\hprmServiceAPI.config).  Might be worth a check to see if that and the dataset ID are correctly defined.

Re: MF CM9.2 Web Client install error

Will do, thanks.

Currently, the whole 9.2 environment is being upgraded, from the scratch ....
